I highly recommend this toaster, it will hold the longest slices, (which is why I bought it, homestyle slices) side by side or it will do four regular slices or four regular size slices that are thick bread, and it has a lot of adjustability the quality is very nice, very well made, it has a digital readout and there’s an instruction guide for how much time and how dark to make the toast, worked perfectly the very first time. You can adjust the temperature on the fly once you set the bread in the toaster and you can cancel the toast at any time with the push of a button. Takes up a lot of counter space though just be aware.

Excellent in almost every way
Toasts long pieces of bread perfectly. Bengal setting is excellent by leaving uncut side chewy. The warming pop up rack on the top is useful and a great idea. The carriage sits very high up making it easy to remove toasted items. Defrost function works great. Count down time illuminated screen is also a great idea.My only negatives: Power cord is sort of shortAnd a really bad design on the adjustment knob; the indicator line is black like the knob and almost impossible to see.. I had to paint the raised line with white acrylic paint so it is visible.

My 18yr old toaster finally died! This Elite Gourmet fit what I was looking for. I wanted two longer slots for my rye bread which is long & narrow. I also wanted slots wide enough for bagels. This is it. It toasts beautifully because it has a timer..love innovative items. This does everything I need it to do..without needing a masters to figure it out. It’s low-profile & sleek looking. Works perfectly sideways to the wall so takes up less prep space on my counter. I use it every day & I’ve had no issues at all with it. Good looking, good price..would recommend.

Stopped working after 11 months of normal use – couldn’t be fixed
We liked this product for about 11 months, and then it suddenly stopped working. The latch would not stay down, and no lights or screens would turn on. I removed all the crumbs, which did not help. I carefully took the whole thing apart and gently cleaned everything with a tooth brush, but it was still completely dead. Seems to be an electrical malfunction.

Uneven heating
It’s big it can accommodate all different sizes of toast and breads. The issue is that it doesn’t heat evenly on both sides of the bread. The toast comes out splotchy. Some parts are more done than others.

This “Elite Gourmet ECT4400B#” is extremely easy to use, right out of the box. Each of the doneness numbers represent a countdown of seconds in the display. Find a setting (1 – 6) with the knob, then push down on the lever on the right side. We’ve found the toasting process to be repeatable. The toasting elements seem to be working just fine, even if they don’t glow red everywhere. In my experience, EVERY toaster that uses conventional toasting element wires have similar behavior…yet they toast evenly. Bagels and reheating on the pop-up rack work great. Now that we’ve found an excellent toaster with side facing buttons and a countdown display, our toasting needs are entirely fulfilled.

Great product, shape and size. The price was really good at just over $50!! Really like the warming rack where I can heat up my sweet buns that I don’t want to stick inside because they might get stuck and drip sugar/jam, etc. into the toaster wires. But on the rack they warm up very well!

Replaced a more expensive toaster that took forever to toast. This one toasts more quickly as most of the heated wires do heat up, while in the previous one only about half of them seemed to heat up, judging by the red colour when hot. This one lacks the ability to raise the bread while toasting to check colour, and doesn’t have extra deep slots, but does have a digital countdown to show how long to go before toast will pop up, which is nice. Only weakness is that it is hard to see what number of darkness the setting it is on. We put a small white mark on the dial to make the setting easier to see.

Was listed as the #1 toasterOnly partially toasts on the one side then you have to flip it to fully toast that side… contacted elite gourmet … after 2 weeks they finally emailed me saying that they don’t ship to Canada. They then informed me that I’d have to go through Amazon… Amazon said outside the 30 day warranty they agreed to pay me 47$ after charging me a 10$ restocking fee!? What’s that for?…I decided to keep the toaster and just remember to flip the bread halfway through toastingOnly 30 day warranty!?Initially I paid $52.95 now it’s listedFor $111 before taxesMake sure you test all functions of the toaster with in a couple of weeks. My mistake was only using the bagel side first and then trying to use it for toast and realizing it always works like a bagel toaster.

Love this toaster. My wife can do her Rye bread without cutting the slice in half first and she is able to toast two slices at a time. I like to use the bagel setting and toast one or two bagels. It really will toast just the sliced side of the bagel and I love that!

Received my first toaster damaged but I returned right away to Staples and received my replacement within 3 days. It was worth the wait! Great looking toaster and the timer really helps to ease the wait.
