Tasted like cooked over a grill or firepit.
I got this because I hate boiled or microwaved hotdogs. I tend to only eat them when cooked over a firepit, or on the grill. This gets them tasting like I had cooked them over the firepit and or the grill! I use it all the time. Not necessarily the bun warmer aspect of it so much, but the hotdog part. Plus if the power goes out I can use it with my Jackery.

Better than I expected!Already ran hot dogs, sausages, and links on it. Everything done to perfection. The only way I could get a better dog is to use an outdoor grill, but this is winter so that’s not an option, and it’s way better than just close enough. Love it.*Pros: Toss’em on, wait 20 – 30, throttle it back a bit if I’m not quit ready yet.. It’s a rotisserie, dinner is ready when I am lol*Cons: Only fits 4 dogs unless you’re using the real tiny ones.Bun warmer works, but don’t add buns until you’re about ready to eat or you’ll get half toast.*Tip: First turn on is a lil bit stinky, probably some protective coating on the rollers. I ran mine a bit so it could sterilize itself, no issues otherwise.

It’s okay, is a good novelty gift
Make sure you read the directions for this toaster before using it. On the first use I put it on the “1” setting without any hotdogs in the basket to let the new coils “smoke” off, you have to watch it while doing this and make sure to hit the stop button as soon as the smoke is gone. It will smell awful when doing this but it is worth it(again, you aren’t supposed to run it while nothing is in it but as long as you watch it it’ll be fine). Just make sure the outside shell doesn’t get too hot. I used Nathan’s bun length, all beef hotdogs and put the dial on the “4” setting. It cooked them perfectly and they were straight from the fridge. Toasting the buns works but you really need the right buns and I would only put them in about midway through the hotdogs cooking time. Also, you can cook 2 hotdogs and then maybe 2 more after but I wouldn’t go beyond this as the outside shell is plastic and it can get hot (and maybe even melt) if you cook more than this. If you have a larger family you might want to consider getting the toaster that cooks 4 at a time. Overall I think it’s good for the novelty, and getting it on sale was worth it. It’d make a great gift for someone who loves hotdogs.

Where do I start… as in all things, let’s start in the beginning. It was a dreary noon. Not like the English countryside in fall mind you but rainy, grey, cold and gloomy outside contrasting against the warm, cheery and fun inside of my cottage sized abode. I decided to break out my new hotdog, Coke editioned, toaster. This will be new to me since I’m the only one in the house that enjoys a good dog on days such as this. I used a standard length Ballpark frank and, similarly, buns. I had to wedge the buns into their respective slots. Not too bad but knew they’d be a bear to get out. I don’t know what size this hotdog toaster is built for. The buns were burnt on each side as shown in the pic. The middle of the buns weren’t toasted at all. The hotdogs were not cooked all the way through. These were straight out of the fridge and were not frozen. In conclusion, it is painfully apparent that the creators of this hotdog toaster do not like hotdogs, nor have they ever used this machine to QA what it’s supposed to do. All well… I just love throwing money down the drain. **Not recommended

Good product if you follow instructions
I was craving hotdogs from 711. So I found this at the top of my suggestions. I saw the reviews so I decided to buy it. YOU HAVE TO READ THE INSTRUCTIONS FIRST BEFORE USING. You have to be patient when cooking the hotdogs don’t walk away or they’ll burn. I noticed that after the fifth setting (circle) they will start to burn so you must adjust at the moment. As for the issue of the hotdogs not turning, if you read the instructions the hotdogs must be round not square. I fixed that issue by flatting the edges on the hotdogs before placing them on the rollers or just wait for the hotdogs to swell and turning them the first few seconds. The only problem is that the buns don’t warm up and cleaning is alittle tedious but not impossible. Hope this helps.

This roaster holds 6 hotdogs or 3 foot longs turn it on and slow roast hotdogs anytime of the day. Useful in any home tht enjoys hotdogs

No Hot Dog- No Cry
I would be leary of this product- the handle snapped off the very first time being pressed down!I have wanted a hot dog toaster ever since I saw them in Sky Mall years ago! I finally decided to buy one…but for my brother’s birthday in October. He has two little kids that this handy device could make snacks really quick for. OR… being the brilliant gift giver that I am I thought this could be perfect in the mancave, garage or out in the ice fishing house…I should have held my congratulations on the perfect gift…I visited his home for Christmas and on the way I stopped and picked up some hotdogs and buns- I was so excited to use my perfectly thoughtful gift! However, when I got there he told me that the lever broke off the first time he pushed it down. He is fix it guy so he thought he could fix it- however on the bottom of the toaster the screws holding it together are triangle heads and he did not have that type of bit. So he ended up some how safely getting it apart and then he frankensteined the handle back on. A good 1-2 hours later he had it put back together and we eagerly plugged it back in and pressed the lever to see if it worked. IT WAS ALIVE… AND SMOKEY. The hot plastic smell that poured out of it was terrible. He has a big kitchen and the whole kitchen smelled very strongly for 30 minutes after this. I guess this is supposed to happen on the first push but we tried it again and it still smelled bad. He refused to cook anything for his kids in something that smelled so bad and into the trash it went. Waa waa. Now I have to find him a replacement birthday gift.

It’s alright.. for the price you should be able to use it without the dogs falling through the cage they’re in and having to retrieve them from the bottom of the machine.

Product came and a roller is binding or not rolling at all. Contacted the manufacturer and no parts can be sent to fix it and they will not ship a new unit to Canada even though it has a 1 year warranty. No way to contact the seller without doing a full return. Everything else is good and I would like to keep it.
